Kiley (Real name: Michael Alin) | 22 | ~~Rock Star~~ Bard

Kiley is fairly short (5’7”), with round features and dark eyes. He dresses very much like the stereotypical rock star – lots of leather, chains, and the occasional fur trim. He has a scar that slashes across the left side of his face, usually mostly hidden by his (dyed) blonde hair or oversized sunglasses. How he got the scar he keeps a mystery, and both encourages and laughs at the various rumors his fans have made about it. On the whole he’s considered fairly androgynous – although his clothes are tight enough to assure that he’s male, his haircut and soft, round features often lead people to think otherwise. This doesn’t bother him in the slightest.

Vainglorious and wild, Kiley takes well to celebrity. He’s blunt, lazy, and extremely self-confident, but luckily for him, people either overlook these traits to concentrate on the fact that he’s *famous*, or are else won over by his mischievous charm. He does extremely well in social situations and takes wonderfully to attention. Generally, he maintains a sort of celebrity aloofness, but he warms quickly to people, and once he does, he drops that to instead treat them as an ‘exclusive’ friend, despite he has *quite* a few of these.

Kiley is half Kunlun, and was raised by his full-blood mother and grandmother while his father, a Morroc merchant, was usually away on business. He had an older brother (Benjamin), a younger sister (Olivia), and a younger brother (Aaron). Shortly after Aaron’s birth, their father never returned from one of his trips, and after months of waiting the family presumed him dead. They were very close, despite certain issues between them – Benjamin, for instance, exerted his ‘man of the house’ authority to insist they all speak Basic, while his mother and grandmother adamantly spoke Kunlun. The children learned a mix of the two.
Their mother had an extremely hard time supporting their family of five, and unsurprisingly, it led Kiley (then Michael) to turn to pick pocketing to help out. He was largely successful, though he backed out of all offers to join the thief’s guild. Aaron tried hard to persuade his brother to give up thieving and join an “actual” guild, and though it took him two years to do it, when Michael turned 15 he agreed and auditioned at the Performer Theatre in Comodo.

During one of Michael’s stays at home, Aaron (then dreaming of becoming a mage when he was old enough) lit a candle in their small home with a fire spell he’d learned from a traveling wizard, and – out of clumsiness – knocked it onto the floor. The house caught fire quickly, and all five of them rushed to escape. Michael was hit with a falling roof beam across the side of the face, earning gruesome burns that later became his scar.

After the incident, the entire family (Michael included) turned against Aaron for both what he’d done to their home and to Michael, and their mother refused to let him leave home to study magic. He committed suicide less than a year later.

Feeling responsible for his brother’s death, Michael pushed himself even harder at the Theatre, soon rising from local knowledge to something of a small celebrity. When it became clear he was only going to increase in popularity, he gave himself the stage name Kiley, tired of his more conventional ‘Michael’. He’s toured around most of Midgard now, and had hoped to try a few gigs in Schwarzwald before the freak storm in Comodo put his plans on hold, as he and the bards that played with him were staying there when it hit.
Unsure of what to do next, he’s currently staying at a luxurious hotel in Geffen.

Likes: Sweets (there is no way to get around this with a Mello PB, I swear), being the center of attention, talking loudly, playing in the rain, getting drunk with friends, swimming, and long naps.
Dislikes: Uncomfortable shoes (though he almost exclusively wears platforms), nosy people, stupid girls, lukewarm things, wine, hesitation, and bland food.
Marital Status: Single.
Family: Grandmother, mother, older brother, younger sister.
Occupation: Rock star, bitches.
Home: *Was* Comodo, now chilling in Geffen.
Language Proficiency: Fluent in Basic, competent in Kunlun (mostly household phrases and insults, picked up from his mother and grandmother).
